David Duke and Protest in NOLA02.jpg
Sept. 24, New Orleans, Police guard a statue of Andrew Jackson in Jackson Square from activists taking part in a protest organized by ‘Take Em Down NOLA'. The group threatened to topple the statue, in response to the city not removing four statues of Confederate figures in New Orleans. Former Ku Klux Klan leader and current U.S. Senate candidate David Duke came to the park to show his support for the Confederate statues, but left before the protesters arrived.
