Pointe-aux-Chenes0018.jpg

Horses on the shores of Bayou Pointe-au-Chien in southeastern Louisiana, home of the Pointe-au-Chien indians. Southeastern Louisiana's wetlands were threatened by the BP oil spill but containment of the Macondo well saved most of the bayous lakes and waterways that make their way to the Gulf of Mexico. Louisiana's wetlands are threaten by coastal erosion, climate change and the oil and gas industry.
