Mandy Verdin, part of the Pointe-au-Chien Indian tribe is out of work since they closed shrimp and crab season on May 29th. She was working with her daughter Grace Welch fishing but now is staying at home. Mandy has emphysema that was limiting her work hours before the season was cancelled and now worries about how her family will support themselves. Shrimp season was canceled on May 29th when oil and dispersant made it into the nearby waters.
