Chicago Illinois, May 20, 2012, Former soldiers in Veterans for Peace, take part in an anti- NATO ceremony. Over a dozen servicemen and women took the stage and explained why they no longer wanted their medals before throwing them in the direction of the NATO summit in an act of returning them. The ceremony rapped up an anti-NATO protest march numbering in the thousands that included members of Veterans for Peace, Code Pink, Occupy Wall Street, and members of the Occupy movement from across the country made through Chicago's downtown on the first day of the NATO summit.
